Injuries Reported in Dust Explosion at Indiana Ethanol Plant

Officials say two people were injured Friday in a dust explosion at a ethanol plant in Cloverdale, Indiana. The incident happened just after noon at the at POET Biorefining.

POET General Manager Jaime Hernandez said dust ignited at a grain-loading facility on the site.

"Our immediate concern is for the well-being of those injured, and we pray for their quick recovery. Safety at all POET facilities is our top priority. We will examine these circumstances closely and work to prevent similar incidents in the future. We are thankful for the response from emergency services to deal with the situation and for our team members who quickly implemented POET's emergency action plan," said Hernandez.

The fire was quickly extinguished and two people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.
