Workshop Focuses on Rent and Leases

Purdue Extension-Dubois County will be hosting a workshop geared towards both farm land owners and renters to help both better understand issues related to crop land rental.
The Ag. Leasing 101 Workshop will take place on March 5 at the Dubois County 4-H Fairground’s Annex Building, 4157 S State Road 162, Huntingburg, IN (just north of Bretzville). The free event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. (EST), and is geared toward farmers, landowners, and financial advisors.
Topics for the evening will include an introduction to farm leasing; types of land leases; written contracts; improving tenant – landlord relations; calculating cash lease amounts and property values; and basic legal issues in leasing.
Nick Held, Spencer County Extension Educator and Purdue Land Lease Team member, will serve as our speaker.
There is no charge for this event but due to needed materials and limited seating, reservations are needed by March 2 by calling the Purdue Extension – Dubois County office at ph. 812-482-1782.
