INFB Announces Federal Lobbyist Promotion
Indiana Ag Connection - 02/20/2017
Indiana Farm Bureau today announced the promotion of Bob White to director, national government relations. With this promotion, he now coordinates the organization's federal policy advocacy efforts.
"We were very lucky that Bob was willing to step into this position," stated Katrina Hall, INFB's director of public policy. "He is uniquely qualified to lead Indiana Farm Bureau's federal policy advocacy. His experience as staff on the U.S. Senate Agriculture
Committee was invaluable to the work of our farm bill taskforce. I am looking forward to his leadership with our congressional delegation and the D.C. fly-in opportunities we offer members."
White, a veteran of five previous farm bills, brings a wealth of experience in agriculture and government relations, having previously served as a branch manager for Farm Credit Services, director of natural resources and environmental affairs for INFB, senior
professional staff member for the U.S. Senate Ag Committee (chaired by then-Sen. Dick Lugar) and state director of Indiana USDA Rural Development (appointed by former President George W. Bush).
He most recently served as INFB's retail agriculture program coordinator, and will continue handling issues related to value-added and retail agriculture, specialty crops, and food safety. He also will continue to represent Farm Bureau on the Indiana Grown
Commission.
"I have always had a passion for national agricultural policy, and I look forward to the opportunity to engage on those issues in an expanded capacity," he said. "This new challenge will allow me to draw on my years of experience serving at the federal level."
White is a loyal Boilermaker, holding a bachelor's and a master's degree from Purdue. He is the father of two grown children and two grandsons. Bob and his wife, Melinda Fox reside in Greensburg.
