Hoosiers Head to Iowa for Farmers Bill of Rights Rally

Three Hoosier farmers, Greg Gunthorp of Gunthorp Farms in LaGrange, and Randy and Sherri Dugger of Dugger Family Farm in Morristown, will be traveling to Storm Lake, Iowa, to participate in a Farmers Bill of Rights Rally organized by Family Farm Action, a national coalition of family farmers and advocates building the "political muscle" to fight for farmers and rural communities. Gunthorp, an Indiana Farmers Union board member, is scheduled to speak at the rally on behalf of Indiana Farmers Union. Sherri Dugger, executive director of Indiana Farmers Union and program director for American Grassfed Association (AGA), will be speaking on behalf of AGA. Randy Dugger, vice president of Indiana Farmers Union, will be available to answer questions from the media.

The Bill of Rights Rally will be held on March 30 and will take place directly prior to the Heartland Forum, which will feature a panel discussion by several 2020 Presidential contenders who will discuss ideas for solving the economic and social challenges facing rural and small town communities throughout the United States. Confirmed candidates for the forum include Former Secretary and Houston Mayor Julian Castro, Representative Joe Delaney (MD), Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN), Representative Tim Ryan (CA), Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA). The forum will take place in Schaller Memorial Chapel at Buena Vista University at 1 p.m. (CST) on March 30.
