Indiana Ag Connection - 04/19/2017

Help Ouabache State Park rid non-native plants from the property by participating in the Invasive Plant Workshop on April 29 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Guest speaker for event will be State Parks Chief of Natural Resources, Anthony Sipes.

Plant workshop coincides with National Volunteer Week, April 23-29.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

9:30-11:30 a.m. - Learn about invasive plants/practice field ID

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Free light lunch

12:30-3:30 p.m. - Mark invasive plants in park and spread native plant seed.

Volunteers will learn proper identification skills and ways to rid invasive species. The knowledge can be taken home and used on one's property. Volunteers can come for part or entire day.

Participates will meet at Trails End Shelter. Volunteers should sign-in at the main gate. For more information, call (260) 824-0926 or email jheaston@dnr.IN.gov.
