Open House to Celebrate Abe Martin Lodge Renovation
Indiana Ag Connection - 04/15/2021

An open house will be held April 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. to see and learn about the complete renovation of the 54-room East Wing of Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park (on.IN.gov/browncountysp), at 1406 S.R. 46 W, Nashville.

Opening comments from DNR Director Dan Bortner and IDOA Director Lesley Crane at 1 p.m. followed by the opportunity to visit several of the renovated rooms.

The original Abe Martin Lodge was constructed in 1932 as a central structure for meals and showers, and as a gathering place for those staying in the sleeping cabins that were built at the same time. The East Wing, formerly called the Annex, was built in 1987. Minor repairs and upgrades have been made during the last 30 years, but this the first complete renovation of the structure. The project was funded as a part of more than $29 million in deferred maintenance support provided to DNR from the Indiana General Assembly for improvements to infrastructure and facilities.
