Salamonie Lake Hosts Nature Play Day June 16

Kids can search a pond for underwater critters, learn about trees on a guided hike and more at Salamonie Lake's Nature Play Day June 16 .
The program runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Salamonie Interpretive Center.
Nature Play Day is free after paying the standard property admission fee of $7 per in-state vehicle or $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
Visitors should bring a sack lunch with drink, water and sunscreen.
At 1 p.m., kids can borrow a dip net and explore the Wildlife Management Pond for underwater critters. At 2 p.m., a naturalist will lead a hike on the Tree Trail. During a Critter Talk at 3:30 p.m., participants will meet a native Indiana animal.
Nature Play Day is an initiative of the Indiana Children and Nature Network (ICAN) to encourage children of all ages to reconnect with nature and spend more time outside. ICAN is a project of the Environmental Education Association of Indiana
