CommoditAg, Effingham, Ill., announced that John Demerly has joined the organization, assuming the role of chief executive officer. In his role at CommoditAg, Demerly will steer future growth of the organization as CommoditAg expands its market footprint and offerings.

Growing up on a farm, Demerly has spent the vast majority of his 22-year career working in all facets of the agriculture industry, including leadership roles at Corteva AgriScience, Adayana Agribusiness Group and the Indiana FFA Organization.

Demerly's past experiences include category and brand development and leadership of major industry brands, sales leadership of both seed and crop protection organizations, leadership of industry wide-strategic plans including Soy 2020 Vision and the Illinois Agriculture strategic plan, and providing strategic consulting expertise to numerous global agriculture organizations.

Demerly received his BS and MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University and his MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Demerly has served on the board of directors for the Agricultural Retailers Association and Purdue University College of Agriculture Dean's Advisory Council, amongst other volunteer organizations.
