Forum on Improving Digital Resources in Rural Indiana
Indiana Ag Connection - 06/18/2021
Purdue University, in partnership with the Future of Tech Commission, will host a virtual public forum on June 23 for discussion on improving access to digital resources for rural communities. The public is invited to join the session, which will inform a set of recommendations on sustainable, inclusive and bipartisan tech policies to be presented to the White House.
The forum is part of the Future of Tech Commission's national town hall tour to gather expert and public input on making technology safe, equitable and trustworthy. Centering on federal and state policies and public-private partnerships, the discussion will focus on equitable access to broadband, digital solutions to sustainable agriculture practices, and adapting to economic opportunities in a digital market and workplace.

The Future of Technology Commission is a private, independent, and bipartisan working group developed in response to discussions with the White House and the Federal Communication Commission to recommend a comprehensive tech policy agenda for the nation. This group of leaders will be instrumental in capturing feedback from diverse communities and groups across the country that include local leaders and national policy experts. They will then help ideate and craft key tech policy measures and set the stage to implement a robust tech agenda with bipartisan support. The commission will release its findings publicly and seeks to support an action plan that outlines the potential of public-private and state-federal partnerships to provide access, safety and accountability as well as supports for innovations that the American public deserve.
