Indiana Chicken and Egg Inventories Up



All layers in Indiana totaled 37.0 million during December, up 5 percent from a year ago.

Egg production totaled 937 million eggs, up 5 percent from last year. The rate of lay during December was 2,530 eggs per 100 layers.

All layers in the U.S. totaled 374.3 million during December, down 5 percent from a year ago.

There were 22.9 million turkey poults hatched in the U.S. in December, up 3 percent from the previous year.
