Cubic Farms Launches Vertical Acres Farm in Indiana, Revolutionizing Local Produce Supply

Cubic Farms Systems Corp., a prominent local chain agricultural technology company, has successfully commissioned its innovative automated growing technology at Vertical Acres Farm in Indiana. This groundbreaking venture marks a significant step forward in local produce cultivation.

Vertical Acres, a produce company based in Indiana, has invested C$3.8M to acquire 20 Cubic Farms machines and one fertigator. The implementation of Cubic Farms' patented technology will empower Vertical Acres to cultivate and distribute substantial quantities of fresh produce within the region.

Initially, the focus will be on growing lettuce and microgreens, with each module capable of yielding over 100,000 heads of lettuce and 12,500 pounds of microgreens annually.

Fred Schakel, the owner of Vertical Acres, expressed excitement about the prospects this new technology brings, emphasizing the need to diversify crop offerings and reduce reliance on water, land, and pesticides.

With Cubic Farms' system, they can now supply fresh, nutritious greens year-round, independent of weather conditions. The integration of technology and automation will also enhance operational efficiency for future generations of the Schakel family.

Cubic Farms CEO John de Jonge expressed delight in the completion of the project, enabling Vertical Acres to provide high-quality, locally grown produce to Indiana and surrounding regions. The company's patented technology optimizes production efficiency while minimizing the physical footprint compared to traditional farming methods.

Cubic Farms is a leading agricultural technology company that develops and deploys innovative solutions to address the changing demands of the world's food supply. Their localized, efficient, and sustainable approach benefits both people and the environment. Through their Hydro Green Nutrition Technology division, they also produce Automated Vertical Pastures™, which facilitate year-round production of high-performance livestock feed.

With this successful launch, Cubic Farms continues to revolutionize the agricultural landscape, paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable future.
