Hoosiers on Livestock Judging Team Taking Second at National Show



The Western Illinois University Livestock Judging Team captured second place in the overall team competition of the National Barrow Show Livestock Judging Contest in Minnesota.

The team, advised by WIU Agriculture Associate Professor Mark Hoge, included: senior agriculture major Zach McCall, of Greenville, Va.; senior agriculture major Nate Brookshire, of Woodland, Calif; junior agriculture major Sawyer Schlipf, of El Paso, Ill.; senior agriculture major Caleb Boden, of Clear Brook, Va.; senior Jeb Schwager, of Bellevue, Iowa; senior agriculture major Emily Fry, of Danville, Ind.; and senior agriculture major Dane Robertson, of Mooresville, Ind. Other WIU students competing in the events included junior agriculture major Gage Tebo, of Idaville, Ind.; junior agriculture major Zach Cline, of Allenton, Mich.; and senior agriculture major Bree Gaffney, of Barneveld, Wis.

Members of the WIU team claimed the Champion Truckload category, and also had a champion Berkshire gilt, which sold for $2,900.
