John Deere Expands MY27 Tillage Portfolio

John Deere Expands MY27 Tillage Portfolio

By Jamie Martin

John Deere has announced new model year 2027 updates to its tillage equipment lineup to provide farmers with more choices and greater flexibility. The updates are designed to support a wide range of field conditions, operation sizes, and productivity needs.

“The new expanded John Deere tillage portfolio reflects what we continue to hear from farmers — the need for tools that fit their operation, acres and timeline,” said Michael Porter, John Deere’s marketing manager for tillage equipment. “From new sizes to expanded autonomy ready options, these updates provide customers with more ways to complete critical fieldwork efficiently during tight post-harvest and pre-planting seasons.”

One of the key updates is the expansion of the High Speed Disk lineup with two new section models. These models are offered in 15, 19, 22, and 25-foot widths. They provide the same strong residue management and field finish as larger disks while being easier to transport and better suited for smaller farms and different tractor sizes.

The new two sections of High Speed Disk models are built with durable frames and improved residue flow. They come autonomy ready from the factory, allowing farmers to prepare for future autonomous field operations while maintaining reliable performance.

John Deere has also expanded autonomy-ready options across its tillage equipment. Autonomy ready capability is now available on the 2730 combination ripper and select models of the 2230 field cultivator. These tools are designed to work smoothly with autonomous ready tractors and help address labor challenges on farms.

Farmers with 2016 or newer 2730 combination rippers can upgrade their existing equipment using Precision Upgrade kits. These upgrades offer a cost-effective way to add autonomy ready features without purchasing new machinery. Field cultivator upgrade kits are already available while ripper kits will be available in summer 2026.

In addition to equipment enhancements, John Deere has updated the naming of its DA Series Applicators to better align with the overall tillage portfolio. Although the name has changed, the applicators continue to deliver the same proven performance farmers expect.

These MY27 tillage updates highlight John Deere’s commitment to delivering durable, flexible and technology-read solutions that help farmers complete fieldwork efficiently during critical seasons.
