Nor-Bert Colby Connie Sets New Lifetime Milk Production Record

Nor-Bert Colby Connie Sets New Lifetime Milk Production Record

A remarkable U.S. Registered Holstein cow named Nor-Bert Colby Connie has shattered the record for lifetime milk production, with an extraordinary total of 486,300 pounds of milk in her latest completed lactation. Connie, owned by Nor-Bert Farm in Bremen, Indiana, has also achieved exceptional lifetime totals of 27,062 pounds of fat and 17,737 pounds of protein, making her the leading cow in the Holstein Association USA database for fat and protein production.

Connie's accomplishment closely follows the previous record set by Chrome-View Charles 3044 earlier this year, highlighting the incredible potential of U.S. Registered Holstein cows.

The Dankert family, consisting of Roger and Deb Dankert, Jeremy Dankert, Jennifer Freeman, and Monty Freeman, takes pride in their ownership of Connie. The 14-year-old cow possesses a classification score of Excellent-94 3E and exhibits notable physical traits, including open ribs, a large frame, impressive width, and a superb udder.

Sired by Solid-Gold Colby-ET and hailing from a lineage of strong milk producers, Connie's genetic heritage has greatly contributed to her exceptional milk production capabilities. Throughout her life, Connie has given birth to nine calves, with four of her daughters becoming high-producing cows in the Nor-Bert herd.

The significance of Connie's achievement becomes even more apparent when considering the impact of her lifetime milk production. Her astounding total of 486,300 pounds of milk is equivalent to 56,547 gallons, 904,744 cups, 48,630 pounds of cheese, 129,680 twelve-inch pizzas, 603,168 scoops of ice cream, and 22,939 pounds of butter. Furthermore, her milk production could sustain the daily dairy requirements of 301,581 people for a single day or feed 10 individuals for over 80 years if each person consumed three servings of milk daily.

Nor-Bert Colby Connie's remarkable record showcases the Registered Holstein cow's unmatched efficiency in producing high-quality milk and exemplifies the exceptional contributions of dairy farming to the food industry.
