Nutrien Partners With CIBO For Farm Data

By Jamie Martin

A new collaboration between CIBO Technologies and Nutrien aimed to advance sustainable agriculture by improving how farm outcomes were measured, reported, and verified. The partnership supported farmers across the Midwest by providing reliable data tools that strengthened sustainability programs and improved access to incentives.

Under the collaboration, CIBO delivered measurement, reporting, and verification services for Nutrien’s sustainable agriculture efforts. These services helped track important indicators such as crop yields, nutrient efficiency, soil health, and greenhouse gas emissions. Accurate reporting allowed farmers and partners to better understand the results of sustainable practices.

"Our goal is to help farmers and their value chain partners increase land resilience while improving farmer ROI," said Sally Flis, Director, Sustainable Ag Programs at Nutrien. "Working with CIBO, we have a trusted provider with the systems and technology in place to accurately measure production and environmental outcomes at scale, and to account for and reward farmers for their sustainability efforts."

Nutrien’s sustainability programs covered millions of acres worldwide and focused on improving efficiency while delivering credible outcomes for companies across the agricultural supply chain. Trusted data played a central role in showing how these programs benefited both the environment and farm operations.

CIBO’s platform combines agronomic, economic, and environmental data into one system. By using advanced modeling and artificial intelligence, the platform reduced paperwork for farmers and offered insights into long-term system improvements across regions.

The collaboration also helped farmers access government conservation funding. Federal programs such as EQIP and CSP provide support for regenerative agriculture practices. CIBO assisted with digitizing and strengthening applications, helping farmers overcome barriers to participation.

Nutrien supported farmers through its nationwide network of agronomists and advisors. This guidance helped align conservation goals with on-farm realities while increasing success in competitive funding pools.

"Companies scaling regenerative agriculture need confidence that their investment delivers impact. CIBO is delighted to work with Nutrien as its trusted source for independent, accurate and reliable data," said Sunand Menon, Executive Chairman and CEO of CIBO Technologies.

“Our platform connects fragmented data, applies advanced modeling and AI, and delivers clear, actionable insights, so companies can understand what's working, scale proven practices, and drive real environmental and economic impact across acres, regions, and programs," said Menon.

Overall, the partnership showed how data-driven solutions could support sustainable farming, improve land resilience, and reward farmers for environmental stewardship while maintaining strong economic performance.
