Registrations Available for Indiana Dunes Summer Camp
Indiana Ag Connection - 06/13/2019

Indiana Dunes State Park is offering a nature-related day camp for students ages 6 through 11, July 15-26.

Two sessions of the Dunes State Park Explorer Camp will be offered, each tailored to different age groups. The camps explore the dunes, the area's plants and animals, and our connection to the land.

Registration is required. Space is limited for each session. Each camp costs $30 per camper. The fee includes snacks, a T-shirt, lunch on Friday, crafts, and park entrance fees.

The session for campers ages 6 to 8 runs July 15-19.

The session for campers ages 9 to 11 runs July 22-26.

Camps meet Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon, and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"This is a fun and affordable opportunity for kids to experience the outdoors," said Marie Laudeman, interpretive naturalist. "Sometimes summer camp costs can be prohibitive for many families. We want all children to be able to explore and discover this gem of a park."

Camp flyers and registration forms are available at the park office or nature center. You can call the nature center for an electronic copy at 219-926-1390.

Additional funding for this summer camp comes from the Friends of Indiana Dunes group.

Indiana Dunes State Park (on.IN.gov/indianadunessp) is at 1600 North 25 E., Chesterton, 46304.
