The Purdue Student Soybean Innovation Competition is offering students an exciting opportunity to showcase creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills while competing for significant cash prizes.
Designed to encourage new ideas and practical solutions involving soybeans, the competition provides participants with a platform to explore agricultural innovation and contribute to the development of future soybean-related products, technologies, and applications.
Open to students interested in agriculture, innovation, and entrepreneurship, the competition highlights the importance of soybeans as a valuable agricultural commodity. Participants are encouraged to develop original concepts that demonstrate the potential of soybeans in addressing current challenges or creating new opportunities within agriculture and related industries.
To help students learn more about the competition, Purdue University will host informational callout sessions. These sessions will provide details about participation requirements, competition expectations, and available resources. Students can attend a callout on September 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in ABE 073 or on September 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in ABE 061. These events will allow potential participants to gather information, ask questions, and connect with others who may be interested in joining the competition.
One of the major attractions of the competition is the opportunity to win substantial cash awards. Prize amounts include $5,000, $10,000, and $20,000, providing strong incentives for students to transform creative ideas into practical and impactful innovations. These awards recognize outstanding projects and encourage participants to explore new possibilities within the agricultural sector.
In addition to learning about the competition, students attending the callout sessions will receive free pizza and T-shirts. These gatherings are designed to create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere where students can network, exchange ideas, and discover how innovation can play a role in advancing agriculture.
Interested students are encouraged to complete the required survey to express their interest and begin the participation process. Early involvement can help participants better understand competition goals and prepare strong project concepts.
