Indiana Farm Bureau Celebrates Photo Winners

Indiana Farm Bureau Celebrates Photo Winners

By Andi Anderson

Indiana Farm Bureau has announced the winners of its 2026 Photo Contest, recognizing photographers who captured meaningful moments that reflect agriculture and rural life across the state.

The competition was open to Indiana Farm Bureau members aged 18 and older and attracted strong participation from photographers representing farming communities throughout Indiana.

This year’s contest featured three unique categories designed to celebrate different aspects of agriculture. Each category winner will receive a $250 cash prize in recognition of their outstanding photography and storytelling skills.

Amanda Keil of Gibson County won the “Red, White & Rural” category. This division highlighted photos that celebrate America’s 250th birthday while showcasing the close relationship between agriculture and the American spirit. Keil’s winning image features her daughter, Kenzie, running through a field while carrying an American flag near their home during a late-summer evening. The photograph beautifully combines patriotism, family values, and rural living.

Linsie Middlesworth of Grant County earned top honors in the “Women Who Cultivate” category. This category recognized women who contribute to innovation, leadership, and success in agriculture while honoring the International Year of the Woman Farmer. Her winning photograph captures two sisters-in-law and their children delivering dinner to the field during harvest season. The image highlights the important role women play in supporting farm operations and bringing families together during one of the busiest times of the year.

Annie Stephens of Hendricks County claimed first place in the “Ag In The Spotlight” category. This category focused on showcasing the beauty of farming and rural Indiana. Her winning photograph depicts a Holstein cow and her newborn calf standing in a pasture as the sun sets over a first-generation dairy farm. The image reflects the care, dedication, and beauty found in modern agriculture.

The contest received more than 113 photo entries during the submission period from August 1 through September 30, 2026. An independent panel of judges evaluated each entry based on several factors, including agricultural relevance, image sharpness, subject matter, composition, and overall technical quality.

In addition to receiving cash awards, the three winning photographs will be displayed during the Indiana Ag Gathering, Indiana Farm Bureau’s annual state convention. The event is scheduled for December 11-12 at the French Lick Springs Hotel in French Lick, Indiana.

The contest continues to provide an opportunity for farmers, families, and rural residents to share their stories through photography. By highlighting agriculture, community connections, and everyday farm life, the winning images offer a powerful reminder of the people and traditions that help sustain Indiana’s agricultural heritage.
