State Fair. This special program, now in its 9th year, is all about showing off Indiana agriculture and connecting regular folks with the farmers who work hard to grow our food.
Cindy Hoye, who runs the Indiana State Fair Commission, says that at the fair, they're all about agriculture and helping people understand where their food comes from. They're teaming up with Corteva Agriscience to honor these farmers.
First up, on August 2nd, we have Scarborough Farms from LaPorte County. They're experts in growing soybeans. Then, on August 4th, Howe Farms from Lake County will be in the spotlight. They're famous for producing beef, pork, and hops.
During the fair, you can meet these farmers at the Glass Barn every afternoon. Plus, there are lots of other cool agriculture exhibits and activities all around the fairgrounds.
Heidi Spahn, who works at Corteva Agriscience, says the Indiana State Fair is a great chance for people to meet the farmers who feed our communities.
The fair runs from August 2nd to August 18th, except for Mondays. This year's theme is "The Art and Nature of Fun." They've got some new stuff from Newfields, which used to be called the Indianapolis Museum of Art, that'll give you a different perspective on art and nature.
