Indiana Leaders Highlight Farm Policy at Ag Summit

By Andi Anderson

The Indiana Ag Policy Summit is set for July 30 at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, bringing together farmers, leaders, and industry experts for key discussions on agricultural policy.

Governor Mike Braun will headline the event, joining a fireside chat with Courtney Kingery, CEO of Indiana Corn Growers Association, Indiana Corn Marketing Council, and Indiana Soybean Alliance. Governor Braun praised Indiana’s agriculture sector, noting its $7.4 billion in exports and over 46,000 jobs.

He reaffirmed his support for farmers, saying, “I’ll always stand with our friends in agriculture by prioritizing efforts that keep our farms and rural communities strong.”

Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb will also update attendees on opportunities for farmers, thanking Indiana Corn and Soy for growing the summit into a key policy event.

Market analyst Susan Stroud, founder of No Bull, will speak on how economic trends, policy changes, and tariffs are shaping today’s farm economy. Harrison Pittman of the National Agriculture Law Center will present on state and federal checkoff programs, followed by a farmer panel discussion led by Kingery.

The Summit will also feature the presentation of the Friend of Farmer award by ICGA President Chris Cherry and ISA Policy Committee Chair Brian Warpup.

After the formal program ends at 12:30 p.m., farmers can connect with lawmakers, enjoy lunch, and explore the Technology Showcase.

The Summit is supported by sponsors like Farm Credit Mid-America, Bayer Crop Science, Corteva Agriscience, and Indiana Pork, among others.

Farmers can register for free at bit.ly/INagpolicy25. For details on the summit or sponsorship, contact Khyla Goodman at kgoodman@indianasoybean.com or 317-614-0377.
