Garwood Orchards in LaPorte, Indiana, will host a free field day on July 9 for growers, students, and others interested in specialty crop production and farm management. The event offers a chance to explore one of the Midwest’s leading fruit and vegetable operations and learn about modern farming practices.
The farm grows approximately 350 acres of vegetables and 250 acres of fruit and is known for adopting new crop varieties, innovative production techniques, and advanced agricultural technologies. Garwood Orchards also operates a successful U-pick program and farm market.
Attendees will tour fruit and vegetable production areas and learn about farm operations, marketing strategies, and direct-to-consumer sales. The event begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by orchard and vegetable field tours, lunch, and a tour of the farm’s marketing and facilities.
The field day will be held at Garwood Orchards, 5911 W 50 South, LaPorte, Indiana.
