The Knox County Vegetable Field Day is set to provide vegetable growers, agricultural professionals, and researchers with valuable information on the latest developments in crop production and management. The event will take place on August 13, 2026, at the Southwest Purdue Agricultural Center in Vincennes, Indiana.
Organized through Purdue Extension, the educational program will focus on current research projects, disease management strategies, crop performance, and important regulatory updates affecting vegetable growers. The event offers an opportunity for participants to learn directly from experts while exploring ongoing field trials.
Registration for attendees will begin from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with educational sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST. The program will be held at the Southwest Purdue Ag Center, located at 4369 North Purdue Road in Vincennes, within Knox County and the Southwest District.
Several important research demonstrations and discussions are scheduled throughout the day. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Pumpkin Research Disease Trials, which focus on evaluating disease challenges and management practices in pumpkin production. Research findings from the Watermelon Fungicide Efficacy Trial will also be presented, offering insights into effective disease control methods for watermelon growers.
The event will also feature information on Tomato Nematode Control in High Tunnels. This research examines methods to reduce nematode damage and improve tomato production in protected growing environments. In addition, participants can review results from the Brassica Variety Trial, which evaluates different brassica varieties for performance and adaptability under local growing conditions.
Tomato Disease and Management will be another key topic during the field day. Experts will discuss common tomato diseases, prevention strategies, and management practices that can help improve crop health and productivity. Growers will gain practical knowledge that can be applied directly to their farming operations.
A special session on the 2026 ESA Regulatory Update will provide information on current regulations and policies relevant to agricultural producers. Understanding these updates can help growers remain informed about changing industry requirements.
The field day is designed to encourage learning, knowledge sharing, and interaction among growers, researchers, and agricultural educators. Participants will gain useful information on improving crop production, managing diseases, and adopting best practices.
