Indianapolis Foundation Opens Competitive Grant Round for 2025

By Andi Anderson

The Indianapolis Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025 Competitive Grant Round, inviting local nonprofits to apply for funding aligned with its Equity Imperative 2030 strategic plan. This initiative aims to create a more equitable Indianapolis, where all people can reach their full potential regardless of race, identity, or location.

Nonprofit organizations can apply for funding in four key priority areas:

1. Housing Equity:

Programs focused on increasing access to safe, stable, and affordable housing, preventing homelessness, and reducing evictions.

2. Economic Equity:

Efforts aimed at closing the wealth gap, encouraging entrepreneurship, and supporting workforce development in high-wage, in-demand sectors.

3. Health Equity:

Projects addressing mental health access, community-based violence reduction, and social barriers to health.

4. Environmental Equity:

Initiatives that support clean energy, environmental justice, and green job creation.

Organizations may request up to $75,000, provided the amount does not exceed 30% of their board-approved budget for the current fiscal year.

To qualify, applicants must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or work under a fiscal sponsor with that designation. All applicants must serve communities in Indianapolis and have a physical office located within the city.

This grant opportunity allows nonprofit organizations to partner with the foundation in driving lasting, community-wide impact. Selected proposals will contribute to shaping a more inclusive, healthier, and sustainable city.

For full details and application instructions, visit the Indianapolis Foundation website. Nonprofits are encouraged to review eligibility guidelines thoroughly before submitting their proposals.
