The Economic Development Corporation of Greensburg/Decatur County (EDCGDC) is thrilled to announce the inaugural Southeastern Indiana Ag Innovation Conference, set for January 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Greensburg City Hall, 314 West Washington St.
Thanks to a generous grant from Duke Energy, the event and associated lunch are entirely free, emphasizing current agriculture practices harnessing renewable energy technology. The conference aims to shed light on how these practices can add value to products and elevate efficiency on the farm.
Speakers and panels will delve into topics such as agrivoltaics, bio-digesters, biofuels industry trends, and the latest advancements in utilizing agriculture waste for energy. Bryan Robbins, Director of EDCGDC, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Our goal is to bring experts on the synergy between ag and renewable energy to the area and be able to present their experiences and data.”
This conference serves as an excellent opportunity for farmers keen on exploring new possibilities offered by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and various USDA programs. Robbins highlighted the importance of farmers as businesspeople, emphasizing the potential to limit waste, reuse resources, and expand profits.
