Indiana Governor Mike Braun has appointed Purdue University junior Reagan Koester to the institution’s Board of Trustees. Koester, a native of Wadesville, Indiana, is pursuing an agribusiness degree with a concentration in agribusiness management at Purdue’s College of Agriculture.
Koester has an impressive record of leadership and service on campus. She has served as president and central committee directing co-chair of the Purdue University Rising Professionals, and she is currently a member of the Student Organization Grant Allocation Board.
Her other roles include membership in Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, participation on the Student Life Advisory Board, and service on the Ag Week Task Force. She is also an ambassador for the Department of Agricultural Economics Envoy.
Her leadership experience extends beyond campus. Koester is a former Indiana 4-H state ambassador and has represented National Ag Voices of the Future on Capitol Hill.
She has been recognized by the College of Agriculture as both the outstanding freshman and sophomore award recipient.
In addition to her academic and leadership work, Koester has gained industry experience through internships with John Deere and Corteva Agriscience. She has also founded three charitable initiatives: Glam and Grit for Foster Teens, Hug Packs, and Ping Pong for Poverty.
On the Board of Trustees, Koester will represent Purdue’s student body and serve on the Academic and Student Affairs Committee and the Physical Facilities Committee. She will have an equal vote in all board decisions.
Governor Braun also reappointed Lawrence Beck, Malcolm DeKryger, and Shawn Taylor to the Board of Trustees. Koester’s appointment highlights Purdue’s commitment to student involvement in governance and decision-making at the highest level.
