Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB), the largest general farming organization in the state, will once again play an important role at the 2026 Indiana State Fair.
Through educational programs, youth activities, and consumer outreach events, the organization aims to increase awareness about agriculture and the importance of locally produced food.
“Indiana Farm Bureau always looks forward to hosting events that support consumer education and youth engagement through our partnership with the state fair,” said Randy Kron, INFB president. “By sharing our story, we hope visitors walk away with a better understanding of the work farmers do every day and our common goal of growing healthy food for everyone.”
One of the major attractions will be the annual Taste From Indiana Farms event, organized by the INFB Women’s Leadership Committee. The free event will take place from Aug. 13 through Aug. 16 at the INFB Fall Creek Pavilion. Visitors will be able to enjoy samples of foods and beverages made with ingredients grown and produced by Indiana farmers.
A variety of agricultural commodities will be featured, including pumpkin, soybeans, blueberries, grain, dairy products, lamb, popcorn, and chicken. This year’s event will also recognize the International Year of the Woman Farmer by highlighting female producers connected to each commodity.
“Taste From Indiana Farms has been a staple of INFB’s presence at the state fair for over 30 years,” said Chelsea Poe, INFB executive director of education and engagement. “Our Women’s Leadership Committee is especially excited this year to spotlight Hoosier female farmers who are dedicated to growing the food we eat and educate fairgoers about those foods grown right here in Indiana.”
Indiana Farm Bureau will continue its strong support of youth agriculture programs through several livestock-related activities. The organization will sponsor an exhibitor experience area where 4-H livestock participants can relax, socialize, and participate in games and activities.
Special attractions include a dirty soda bar for exhibitors and an educational session for parents to learn about agricultural opportunities and youth programs. A popular DIY hat bar will also return, allowing exhibitors to customize hats with decorative patches.
In addition, INFB will sponsor the 4-H Supreme Drive and the 4-H Supreme Showmanship competitions, which celebrate excellence in livestock production and showmanship among young participants.
The organization’s commitment to young people extends beyond the fair through scholarships, collegiate Farm Bureau chapters, FFA training programs, grants for FFA chapters and 4-H clubs, leadership development activities, competitions, awards, and conferences.
The 2026 Indiana State Fair will be held from Aug. 7 through Aug. 23 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center in Indianapolis. Through its various programs and partnerships, Indiana Farm Bureau will continue promoting agriculture while inspiring the next generation of agricultural leaders.
