Vegetable producers, agricultural professionals, and industry stakeholders will have an opportunity to learn about the latest research and management practices during the Knox County Vegetable Field Day in Indiana.
The educational event is designed to provide valuable information that can help growers improve crop performance, manage challenges, and stay informed about industry developments.
The program will be held on August 13, 2026, at the Southwest Purdue Ag Center in Vincennes, Indiana. Registration is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with educational activities running from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST. The event will bring together farmers, researchers, and agricultural experts to discuss practical solutions for vegetable production.
One of the highlights of the field day will be research focused on pumpkin diseases. Participants will learn about ongoing disease trials and how research findings can help improve crop health and productivity. Effective disease management remains an important part of successful vegetable farming, and these trials provide useful information for growers.
The program will also feature a watermelon fungicide efficacy trial. This research examines the effectiveness of various fungicide treatments in managing diseases that can affect watermelon production. Understanding the performance of different treatments can help farmers make better crop protection decisions.
Another important topic will be tomato nematode control in high tunnels. Nematodes can cause significant damage to vegetable crops, making management strategies essential for maintaining healthy plants and strong yields. Growers will gain insights into methods that can reduce pest pressure and support successful tomato production.
