Farmers, crop advisers, and agricultural professionals will have an opportunity to learn about the latest farming research and management practices at the upcoming Randolph County Davis Purdue Ag Center Field Day. The educational event will focus on several important topics that affect crop production, farm profitability, and long-term sustainability.
The program will take place on September 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EST at the Davis Purdue Ag Center, 6230 IN-1, Farmland, Indiana. Registration for participants will begin at 7:30 a.m., allowing attendees time to check in before the educational sessions begin.
The field day will feature discussions on soil fertility management, including current research related to phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). These nutrients play a vital role in crop growth, and understanding their management can help producers make informed decisions that support both productivity and soil health.
Attendees will also learn about pest and fertility management in regenerative farming systems. As interest in sustainable agriculture continues to grow, researchers are exploring practices that improve soil quality while maintaining crop performance. The session will provide valuable information on balancing fertility needs with effective pest management strategies.
Another key topic will be Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) requirements in Indiana. With drone technology becoming increasingly important in agriculture, farmers can benefit from understanding current regulations and operational guidelines. The session will help producers learn how UAVs can support modern farming practices while meeting regulatory requirements.
The event will also highlight the latest findings from weed management research. Effective weed control remains a critical part of crop production, and updated research can help farmers select management strategies that improve field performance and reduce crop competition.
In addition, participants will receive information on corn pest management and growing season analysis. These insights can help producers identify challenges during the crop season and adopt practices that protect yield potential.
The program will conclude with an overview of the 2026 ESA Regulatory Update, giving attendees important information about current regulations that may impact agricultural operations and pesticide use.
