Lagrange County Hosts Pesticide Safety and Regulatory Update Program

Agricultural professionals and farmers in LaGrange County will have an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of pesticide safety and regulatory requirements through an upcoming educational program. The event is designed to provide participants with practical information that supports safe, effective, and responsible pesticide use in agricultural operations.

The program will be held on September 1, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST at the Commissioners Room, Courthouse Annex, 114 W. Michigan, LaGrange, Indiana. The event is part of the East District PARP program and is expected to attract farmers, pesticide applicators, and other agricultural stakeholders interested in improving their understanding of current industry standards.

One of the key topics that will be discussed is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Participants will learn about the importance of using proper protective gear when handling and applying pesticides. Following PPE recommendations can help reduce exposure risks and improve workplace safety for farm operators and employees.

The program will also focus on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Neighborly Pesticide Applications. These practices encourage responsible pesticide use while reducing the risk of spray drift and unintended impacts on neighboring properties, crops, and communities. Attendees will gain insights into planning applications carefully, following label instructions, and maintaining positive relationships with neighboring landowners.

Another important feature of the event is the 2026 ESA Regulatory Update. Participants will receive information about recent regulatory developments and requirements that may affect pesticide application practices. Understanding these updates can help applicators remain compliant with regulations while maintaining effective crop protection strategies.

The educational session aims to provide practical knowledge that can be applied directly in the field. By staying informed about safety measures, best management practices, and regulatory changes, agricultural professionals can make better decisions that support both productivity and environmental stewardship.
