Indiana Ag Security Summit Focuses on Threats and Solutions

Indiana Farm Bureau is hosting the Indiana Ag Threats & Security Summit on March 25 in Indianapolis at the Tallison Hotel. This new event focuses on addressing modern challenges in agricultural security and is presented in partnership with FBI Indianapolis, Beck’s Hybrids, and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

Registration for the summit opens in early February, with RSVPs due by March 11. The event is free for Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) members, while nonmembers can attend for $50. Space is limited to 250 participants.

The summit will feature discussions on key topics, including:

  • The current agricultural threat landscape. 
  • Biosecurity and its importance to law enforcement investigations.
  • Best practices for farm security, such as two-factor authentication.
  • Emerging risks like drones, data breaches, and ransomware.

Confirmed speakers include Jim Love from Beck’s, Aaron Pierce of Pierce Aerospace, and JoLee Hayes, senior vice president and chief information officer at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. These experts will provide insights into protecting agricultural operations from potential threats.

The event aims to equip farmers and agricultural professionals with practical knowledge and strategies to enhance farm security. From biosurveillance to advanced data protection methods, attendees will gain valuable tools to safeguard their operations.

This summit offers a unique opportunity to stay informed about the evolving challenges facing agriculture and to network with professionals dedicated to agricultural security.
