Indiana Farm Bureau Recognizes Promising Scholars with 13 Scholarships

Indiana Farm Bureau has recently awarded scholarships to 13 outstanding students who are pursuing or continuing their college education with a focus on agriculture. These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance for various educational expenses, including tuition, housing, books, and more.

Among the prestigious scholarships presented is the Marion Stackhouse Memorial Scholarship, named after former INFB president Marion Stackhouse. Madison Powell, a sophomore studying agricultural education at Purdue University, was selected as this year's recipient, receiving a $1,000 scholarship for her commitment to the field and membership in INFB.

Additionally, two Collegiate Farm Bureau scholarships, each valued at $1,000, were awarded to Linda Jacob, a junior at Vincennes University from Dubois County, and Kristy Kohlhagen, a junior at Purdue University from Jasper County. These scholarships are available to members of any of the Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters across Purdue, Vincennes, and Huntington universities.

Furthermore, 10 students, representing each of the INFB districts, were chosen as recipients of the $1,000 Carolyn Hegel Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship, named after Carolyn Hegel, a former INFB 2nd vice president, honors her 26 years of service to the organization. The winners, who must be INFB members pursuing an agricultural degree, include students from various counties such as Whitley, St. Joseph, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Putnam, Hancock, Knox, Rush, Dubois, and Dearborn.

Isabella Chism, INFB 2nd vice president, commended the students for their passion and dedication to agriculture. She expressed confidence in their potential to become future leaders in the community, acknowledging their commitment to higher education and their contributions to the agricultural industry.

In addition to these scholarships, county Farm Bureaus in Indiana also offer annual scholarships to local students. To learn more about these opportunities, individuals can visit the INFB website (www.infb.org) and explore the Scholarships and Grants page under the Resources tab.
