Farmers and agricultural professionals in Northwest Indiana will have a valuable learning opportunity in early 2026 through a scheduled PARP training event in Pulaski County.
The training session aims to help participants strengthen their knowledge of pesticide safety, plant nutrition, and updated regulations that will shape agricultural practices in the coming year.
The event will take place on February 11, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. EST at Bethel Bible Church, located at 6966 W SR 14, Winamac, Indiana 46996.
Organized for the Northwest District, this training is part of the ongoing efforts by Purdue Extension to support growers with timely and practical agricultural education.
The session will cover three major topics essential for modern farming. The first topic, Pesticide Exposure, will help farmers better understand how exposure occurs, how to reduce risks, and how to follow safe application practices. This information is important for protecting both farmworkers and the environment.
The second topic, Micronutrients, will focus on how crops use small but essential nutrients for healthy growth. The discussion will help participants learn how to address deficiencies, choose the right nutrient sources, and improve overall soil and crop performance.
The third portion of the training will provide a 2026 Regulatory Update, giving farmers the latest information on rules and guidelines related to pesticide use, environmental protection, and farm compliance. Staying informed about regulatory changes is critical for maintaining certification and avoiding penalties.
This PARP event is supported by Purdue University’s Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, which works closely with communities to share research-based information. The session will be led by Abby Anspach, Fulton County ANR Educator, who is available for questions at 574-223-3397 or newman0@purdue.edu.
Farmers attending the event will gain practical skills and up-to-date knowledge that can be applied immediately on their farms. By combining safety practices, nutrient management, and regulatory awareness, the training helps support responsible and productive agriculture across the region.
