A farmers’ meeting focused on Professional Agricultural Renewal Program requirements will be held in St Joseph County within Indiana’s Northwest District.

The event will bring together local producers for education, discussion, and updates on key agronomic and regulatory topics relevant to the upcoming growing season.

The meeting will take place on March 19, 2026, and will be hosted at the Ester Singer Building at the St Joseph County Fairgrounds in South Bend, Indiana.

Farmers attending the morning session to gain information that supports both farm productivity and compliance with continuing education needs. The program is organized through Purdue Extension and is part of ongoing efforts to deliver research based education to agricultural communities.

Several important topics will be covered during the meeting. One session will focus on regenerating soil function using cover crops. Speakers will explain how cover crops support soil structure, improved water movement, and contribute to long term soil health.

Practical examples will be shared to help farmers understand how these practices could fit into existing crop systems.

Another segment will review findings from Purdue on the Farm 2025 research trials. This portion will highlight applied research conducted under real farm conditions and explain how results could be used to guide management decisions.

The discussion is designed to help farmers better understand how research translates into everyday field practices.

The meeting also will include a 2026 Environmental Stewardship and regulatory update. This session addresses upcoming changes and requirements that could affect crop production and farm operations. Clear explanations will be provided to help producers prepare ahead of the next season.

The event is coordinated by Emily Evers, an Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator. Farmers registered by phone or email and are encouraged to reach out with questions before or after the meeting. Contact information was shared to support ongoing communication and follow up.
