Vegetable Chat Webinar Highlights Asparagus Production

Vegetable Chat Webinar Highlights Asparagus Production

By Andi Anderson

Vegetable Chat is an ongoing webinar series focused on vegetable crop production and practical farm management topics. The program is designed mainly for commercial vegetable growers, but producers of all sizes can benefit from the shared knowledge.

Each session features expert guidance followed by an open question and answer discussion.

The upcoming session in the series focuses on asparagus production. This webinar provides growers with useful information on crop management, field practices, and current research.

The session aims to support informed decision making for vegetable farms while strengthening understanding of asparagus production systems.

The webinar features Ben Werling, an Extension vegetable educator from Michigan State University. He brings experience in vegetable crop research and grower education.

During the session, he shares research based insights and practical recommendations that growers can apply in real farm settings. The presentation is followed by a live discussion where participants can ask questions and seek clarification.

The live webinar takes place on January 29, 2026, at 2:30 pm Eastern Time. The topic area falls under College of Agriculture Extension, with support from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.

Interested participants must register in advance through Zoom. After registration, attendees receive a confirmation email with details on how to join the session. Registration helps ensure smooth access and timely updates before the webinar begins.

Vegetable Chat also offers access to previous webinar recordings. These recordings are available online and allow growers and students to review past sessions at their own pace. This feature supports ongoing learning beyond the live event.

Overall, the Vegetable Chat webinar series provides reliable extension based education in an easy to understand format. The asparagus session continues this goal by delivering expert knowledge, encouraging discussion, and supporting vegetable growers through shared learning and research focused guidance.
