The Pioneer Village Auction is a long-standing tradition held during the Indiana State Fair, bringing together history enthusiasts, collectors, and supporters of agricultural heritage. Organized annually by the Purdue Ag Alumni Association, the event serves as an important fundraiser dedicated to preserving and restoring valuable items displayed within Pioneer Village.
Held on the final Saturday of the Indiana State Fair each year, the auction provides attendees with an opportunity to purchase a wide range of unique and historical items. Proceeds from the event directly support restoration efforts, helping maintain the historical significance of Pioneer Village for future generations.
The auction features an impressive collection of items that appeal to collectors and visitors of all ages. Participants can bid on Indiana State Fair memorabilia, handcrafted items created by artisans working within Pioneer Village, vintage tools, agricultural machinery, antiques, and various collectibles. These items reflect the rich agricultural and cultural history of Indiana and provide buyers with a chance to own a piece of that heritage.
The 2026 Pioneer Village Auction is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026. The event will take place inside the Opry House located within Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Auction activities will officially begin at 10:00 a.m., while buyer registration will open at 9:00 a.m. to allow participants time to complete registration before bidding starts.
The event is expected to attract fair visitors, collectors, and community members interested in supporting historical preservation efforts. By participating in the auction, attendees contribute to the ongoing maintenance and restoration of exhibits that showcase Indiana's agricultural traditions and rural lifestyle.
