Celebrating Agriculture at the 2023 Indiana State Fair

By Andi Anderson

Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) is all set to celebrate agriculture's importance at the 2023 Indiana State Fair. As the largest farm organization in the state, INFB is dedicated to safeguarding agriculture's future through various initiatives, including youth engagement and promoting locally grown foods.

The partnership between INFB and the state fair brings the new Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion, replacing the former Swine Barn. This versatile livestock facility aims to educate the next generation about agriculture and pleases livestock exhibitors across the state.

INFB's exciting events include the "Taste From Indiana Farms," hosted by the INFB Women's Leadership Committee. This event offers free samples of delicious food and drinks made from ingredients grown by Indiana farmers. Visitors can enjoy an array of commodities, from dairy and corn to apples and cucumbers.

INFB continues to support the 4-H youth livestock competitions, sponsoring the Exhibitor Experience and various showmanship contests. The organization's dedication to youth extends beyond the fair with scholarships, FFA advocacy, and leadership development opportunities.

The Indiana State Fair, held from July 28 to August 20 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center in Indianapolis, offers an excellent platform for INFB to celebrate the significance of agriculture and its bright future. With a focus on educating the public and fostering a love for locally sourced foods, INFB continues to be a driving force in shaping the future of agriculture in Indiana.
