Farm Bureau Calls for USDA Leadership Confirmation

By Jamie Martin

The American Farm Bureau has urged the Senate to confirm Brooke Rollins as the next USDA Secretary, emphasizing the need for strong leadership to support farmers and rural communities.

Urgent Call for Confirmation

Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall wrote to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, stressing the importance of swift confirmation.

"I respectfully urge you to prioritize her confirmation and work with your colleagues to ensure that the USDA has the leadership necessary to support the millions of Americans who depend on its programs and policies," Duvall wrote.

Rollins' Qualifications for the Role

The letter highlights Rollins’ extensive experience in advocating for rural development and economic policies that benefit American agriculture.

With a history of White House leadership and expertise in agricultural policy, she is seen as a strong candidate to navigate current industry challenges and improve food security.

Future USDA Leadership Outlook

The Farm Bureau believes Rollins will implement policies to support farmers, ranchers, and rural communities, ensuring USDA remains a key advocate for agriculture growth and sustainability.

The confirmation now rests in the hands of the Senate, and agricultural leaders hope for a timely decision to secure USDA leadership.
