Goshen College Gets More Accessible for Indiana Residents

Goshen College officials said they are excited that the Indiana State Budget Committee recently approved the Indiana Commission of Higher Education’s request for the largest increase in state grant funds since 2008.

Current and prospective students who are eligible for the Frank O’Bannon/Freedom of Choice Grant will receive an increased award effective for the 2023-24 school year.

To be eligible, students must be an Indiana resident, complete the FAFSA by April 15, 2023, be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, be a high school graduate by Fall 2023, or hold a GED, enrolled full-time at an eligible Indiana post-secondary institution and have an estimated family contribution of $8,500 or less.

Goshen College is committed to increasing accessibility and affordability to higher education by working to remove barriers to college entry. In February 2022, GC also announced its All IN Tuition Promise, which promises to offer financial aid resources that cover 100 percent of tuition for new income-eligible students.

Also in 2022, Goshen College was ranked third among Indiana private colleges on Money’s 2022 Best Colleges list, which ranks colleges based on quality of education, affordability and outcomes.

Currently, 99.6% of GC students receive financial aid and the average package is nearly $29,000. Goshen College students also graduate with less debt than the national average for public and private colleges/universities, and less than graduates from Indiana public universities.
