Henry County Farm Bureau made an impressive mark at the recent INFB State Convention in Fort Wayne, showcasing their talent and expertise in various agricultural spheres.

Kylie Wheeler, hailing from Middletown, emerged victorious in the highly competitive 2023 Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ag Professionals Discussion Meet. Participants engaged in simulated committee discussions addressing critical issues faced by American farmers. Topics ranged from capital access to sustainable agriculture and water management challenges. Wheeler’s triumph highlighted her dedication and persistence.

Expressing her gratitude, Wheeler remarked, "Winning the 2023 Discussion Meet is an immense honor. It validates the effort and dedication I've put into this competition over the years."

Wheeler, a Purdue University graduate in agricultural economics, currently serves at the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Additionally, she actively contributes to the Henry County Farm Bureau as the county education outreach coordinator.

Mark and Jessica Wenning secured the Achievement Award, recognizing their substantial contributions to agriculture and leadership within INFB. Their farming expertise, coupled with leadership roles in Henry County Farm Bureau, earned them this accolade. Mark, raised on a corn and soybean farm, holds degrees in agricultural systems management and agricultural economics from Purdue University. Jessica, with a background in dairy farming, graduated from Ball State University with a focus on accounting, finance, and economics.

These winners, along with Megan Espinda, the Rising Star Award runner-up, displayed exceptional commitment and growth within Farm Bureau and the broader agricultural community. Espinda, an Ag Liaison for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, received recognition for her active participation and professional development. Her academic background in Animal Science and Agribusiness further solidifies her commitment to agricultural advancement.

These outstanding individuals, representing Henry County Farm Bureau, will advance to the 2024 American Farm Bureau convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their achievements reflect the future leadership potential in agriculture and commendable dedication to the field.
