Indiana Farm Bureau Awards Grants To 4H And FFA

By Andi Anderson

The Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) has announced funding for twelve 4-H and FFA programs through its annual Ag Literacy Challenge Grant. These grants aim to support youth-led initiatives that promote agricultural awareness and education throughout Indiana.

The awarded programs will take place between October 2025 and August 2026, with grants ranging from $250 to $1,000. In total, INFB distributed more than $9,200 to enhance agricultural literacy projects in local communities.

Eligible programs included those that help consumers understand Indiana agriculture, encourage collaboration between youth and adults, and promote agricultural practices and education.

Projects funded through this year’s program include hands-on gardening, classroom agriculture days, food education, and farm-to-table learning activities. Examples include Elkhart County 4-H’s school garden initiative, Whiteland FFA’s Cow to Cup dairy program, Rensselaer Central FFA’s Harvest Meals project, and Warrick County 4-H’s Grow’In Soy program, which teaches youth about soybean production and sustainability.

Other programs, such as Beech Grove FFA’s Career Connect 2025 and Ohio County’s Ag Day workshops, will help connect students to agriculture careers and strengthen leadership skills.

“FFA and 4-H play such an important role in ag education and leadership development opportunities for Indiana’s youth,” said INFB President Randy Kron. “Congratulations to our Ag Literacy Challenge Grant winners. The programs highlight a variety of Indiana agriculture and spread awareness of the importance of our industry.”

Grant recipients will submit reports detailing their results and share their experiences with their local county Farm Bureau. The Ag Literacy Challenge Grant is one of several INFB programs designed to invest in youth leadership, which also includes scholarships, collegiate Farm Bureau chapters, FFA advocacy events, and leadership conferences.
