Indiana Farm Bureau health plans now cover over 10,000 Hoosiers

By Andi Anderson

Indiana Farm Bureau (INFB) Health Plans has reached a milestone of providing health coverage to over 10,000 Hoosiers, with 4,851 active plans as of the end of September 2024.

Designed to offer affordable and reliable health insurance, INFB Health Plans have grown significantly since their launch four years ago, helping Indiana residents access essential health benefits at reduced costs.

As of the third quarter, INFB Health Plans include a variety of options: 3,752 traditional health plans, 768 dental and vision plans, and 331 Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans.

According to INFB President Randy Kron, the organization’s goal is to offer health care solutions that meet members' needs without the high costs of private insurance.

INFB Health Plans offer an average of 25% to 50% savings for families compared to non-subsidized ACA plans.

The fourth quarter marks the open enrollment period for most employers and ACA plans, making it an ideal time for members to assess their health coverage options. Steve Allen, INFB Health Plans manager, encourages individuals and families to review their coverage to ensure they have the right plan for their needs.

Existing INFB members can apply for coverage anytime during the year, provided they have held membership for at least 30 days before applying for traditional health or dental and vision plans. Medicare Supplement Insurance, however, does not require this waiting period.

Farm families in Indiana, such as those in Randolph County, have found substantial savings with INFB Health Plans. One family reported saving between $700 and $800 per month compared to previous private insurance costs.

Additionally, INFB Health Plans include an extensive network of providers through UnitedHealth Care Choice Plus, even in rural communities, and offer options that include dental and vision coverage.

Membership in Indiana Farm Bureau is required to apply for these health plans, with coverage available throughout Indiana. INFB Health Plans provide members peace of mind, knowing they can access comprehensive health care while benefiting from substantial monthly savings.

For Indiana residents seeking more affordable health coverage, INFB Health Plans offer a reliable choice that meets a wide range of health care needs across the state.
