Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans surpass 8,300 Hoosiers covered

By Andi Anderson

Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans (INFB) announced today that it has nearly 3,900 enrolled plans at the end of the third quarter, which equates to more than 8,300 Hoosiers covered – an increase of over 25% from September 2022.

INFB Health Plans offers a variety of affordable health insurance plans for individuals, families, and Medicare beneficiaries. The plans utilize the extensive UnitedHealth Care Choice Plus network for hospitals and doctors, giving customers many options to choose from.

One member who has benefited from INFB Health Plans is Joni Steinkamp, of Vanderburgh County. Steinkamp and her husband have been Indiana Farm Bureau members for more than 30 years. They switched to INFB Health Plans when it became available and have saved more than $100 a month.

“We are saving more than $100 a month, the deductible is less and the coverage is better,” explained Steinkamp. “Plus, we never had dental and vision benefits before. Now, they are bundled together in our plan - it’s a win-win.”

How to save money on health insurance:

If you are looking for ways to save money on health insurance, there are a few things you can do:

Shop around and compare different plans. There are many different health insurance plans available, so it is important to shop around and compare different options before you choose a plan. You can use the HealthCare.gov website to compare plans in your area.

Consider a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). HDHPs have lower monthly premiums, but higher deductibles. If you are healthy and can afford to pay a higher deductible, an HDHP may be a good option for you.

Take advantage of tax breaks. There are a number of tax breaks available for health insurance. You can deduct the cost of your health insurance premiums from your federal income taxes. You may also be eligible for a tax credit to help you pay for your health insurance.

Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans is a great option for Hoosiers who are looking for affordable and comprehensive health insurance coverage. To learn more about INFB Health Plans and to apply for coverage, visit www.INFBhealthplans.com.
