The Indiana FFA Association, in partnership with Make48, proudly announces the winners of the inaugural Make48 Innovation Contest, recognizing outstanding achievements in agriculture innovation and education. Held at the Fishers Maker Space on Sunday, May 5th, this all-FFA teams competition showcased the diverse talents and creativity of FFA chapters across Indiana.

The Make48 Competition, known for its innovation challenges held nationwide, provided an opportunity for FFA teams to demonstrate their ingenuity and passion for agriculture. With categories ranging from plant science to agriculture technology, teams were tasked with creating interactive displays to educate others about the positive impact of agriculture on communities and careers.

Seven Indiana FFA Chapters rose to the challenge, including Connersville, Eastern Hancock, Fishers, Frankton-Lapel, Hamilton Heights, Hamilton Southeastern, and Purdue Polytechnic. Each team showcased their commitment to agricultural innovation by constructing physical prototypes and informational displays highlighting the various facets of the industry.

The winners of the Make48 Innovation Contest are as follows:

  • Best Agilities: Purdue Polytechnic
  • Best Sales Pitch: Hamilton Southeastern
  • Overall Winner: Hamilton Southeastern

Hamilton Southeastern emerged as the overall winner, demonstrating exceptional creativity and dedication to promoting agriculture education and innovation. Their success, along with the achievements of all participating teams, exemplifies the potential for FFA members to make a meaningful impact in the agriculture industry and beyond.

The Indiana FFA Association extends its gratitude to Corteva for their support in making this event possible. By fostering innovation and education in agriculture, the Make48 Innovation Contest reaffirms the importance of cultivating future leaders and innovators in the industry.
