The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is working on a new agriculture portal to better serve farmers, agribusinesses, and consumers across the state.
This online platform will act as a one-stop destination for helpful resources, and the public is invited to help shape its development.
This new initiative comes under House Enrolled Act 1149, signed into law by Governor Mike Braun in March. The goal of the law is to create a centralized online portal that brings together state and federal resources in one easy-to-navigate place.
“This new online portal was part of my Freedom and Opportunity agriculture agenda and is a win for Hoosier farmers,” said Governor Braun. “It’s a one-stop shop to help Hoosier farmers navigate state and federal agencies, avoid red tape, and communicate to state government what we can do better.”
Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith added, “Indiana’s strength is built on the dedication of our farmers, and this ag portal is a leap forward in ensuring they have every tool needed to succeed.”
To make this portal as useful as possible, ISDA is asking the public to complete a brief two-minute survey. It is completely anonymous and does not ask for any personal or business-related information.
ISDA Director Don Lamb emphasized, “To create a product that will be useful, we must have input from people on what assistance they need.”
The survey can be accessed by visiting isda.in.gov and clicking on “Ag Portal Survey.” The state plans to launch the completed agriculture portal in 2026 after reviewing all feedback.
This is an opportunity for farmers and stakeholders to voice their needs and help build a platform that truly supports Indiana agriculture.
