Indiana’s agbioscience economy is on the rise, with a growth of $6 billion in the 36-month period from 2019 to 2021, despite the pandemic.
AgriNovus Indiana, a non-profit organization, is working towards making Indiana the global epicenter of agbioscience innovation. Their strategy involves collaborating with leaders of industry, higher education, and philanthropy to achieve their goals. The President & CEO of AgriNovus Indiana, Mitch Frazier, expects the agbioscience economy to grow even more in the future.
Frazier believes that animal health is the fastest-growing category of Indiana’s agbioscience economy over the last decade. He adds that food has become an incredible growth engine, and plant science and crop protection are also seeing tremendous growth. Furthermore, ag tech has shown significant growth in recent years. Frazier attributes much of the success to production agriculture, emphasizing that the agbioscience economy requires the participation of farmers and producers.
Indiana is ranked fifth in the nation for business and first in the Midwest, making it a business-friendly state. AgriNovus Indiana is collaborating with various entities to create an ecosystem that fosters growth in agbioscience. Frazier’s strategy is working, and the evidence is in the $6 billion growth in Indiana’s agbioscience economy.
With the continued growth of Indiana’s agbioscience economy, the state is poised to become the global hub for agbioscience innovation.
