Indiana Pork will host the Midwest Pork Conference on Dec. 6 at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Ind. Midwest Pork Conference brings together more than 300 independent pork producers, farm managers, contract growers and allied industry leaders to this one-day educational and networking event.
Midwest Pork Conference, held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern, includes educational sessions discussing topics such as manure management and use of cover crops, US SHIP and disease response, farm legacy and culture, visas and immigrant labor, and an update on Prop 12.
This year our three general session speakers feature Dr. Jayson Lusk, department head of Purdue University's Department of Agricultural Economics; Dr. Steve Meyer, lead economist for Partners for Production Agriculture; and Michael Formica, chief legal strategist for the National Pork Producers Council.
"The committee has put together a fantastic lineup of speakers this year for Midwest Pork Conference," said Stacy Herr, director of producer education for Indiana Pork. "With a wide array of timely topics, there really is something for everyone involved in the pork industry."
The event also includes a tradeshow and multiple opportunities to network throughout the day. The cost to attend is $70, however, if guests registers before Nov. 18, there is a $15 savings. Various sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are also available.
