Indiana agriculture got a boost with the recent appointment of Jennifer Thum as the new Soil Conservation Director. Thum boasts over a decade of experience within the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), most recently serving as Deputy Director. Known for her dedication and leadership, Thum brings a wealth of knowledge and accomplishment to the table.
Her impressive track record includes securing over $50 million in funding for vital soil conservation projects. She also spearheaded various initiatives like the Western Lake Erie Basin program and the upcoming iCover project, demonstrating her commitment to environmental stewardship.

In her new role, Thum will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, landowners, and local Soil and Water Conservation districts. She'll oversee crucial programs like the Indiana Conservation Partnership and spearhead data collection efforts to inform future strategies.
