A special agricultural education event is scheduled to take place in Parke County under the PARP Northwest District program. This event aims to support farmers by providing important knowledge on crop management, technology use, and the latest agricultural regulations.
It will be held on July 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at the Parke County Extension Office Meeting Room located at the fairgrounds in Rockville, Indiana.
Participants are advised to arrive early, as registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue until 1:00 p.m.
This will give attendees enough time to settle in before the sessions begin. The program is organized to offer practical and useful information that farmers can apply in their daily operations.
The event will be led by Kurt Lanzone, an ANR Educator who will serve as the main contact for the program. Farmers and participants can reach out to him through phone or email for further information or queries related to the event. His guidance and expertise will help ensure that the sessions are informative and relevant to current farming needs.
The program will cover several important topics. One of the key areas is corn crop diagnostics, which will help farmers identify and address issues affecting crop health and yield. This session will focus on recognizing problems early and taking proper action to improve crop performance.
Another important topic is the use of GPS technology and sprayer tips. Farmers will learn how to use these tools effectively to improve accuracy in spraying and reduce waste. Special attention will also be given to drift reduction aids, which help protect nearby crops and the environment from unintended chemical exposure.
The event will also include updates on the 2026 ESA regulations. This session will help farmers understand new rules and ensure they remain compliant with current agricultural policies.
