The State Soil Conservation Board (SSCB) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will take place at MADE@Plainfield, located at 1610 Reeves Rd, Plainfield, Indiana, with the option for participants to join virtually. The Indiana State Department of Agriculture has provided a Microsoft Teams link and a call-in number for remote access. The virtual call-in number is 1-317-552-1674, with the meeting access code 417 552 811#.

Prior to the public meeting, the SSCB will hold an executive session in accordance with Indiana Code 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(6), which allows for discussions concerning personnel matters involving individuals under the board’s jurisdiction. This session will be conducted privately as permitted by Indiana Code 14-32-2-1.

The SSCB plays a vital role in administering the Clean Water Indiana Fund, which focuses on improving water quality by reducing erosion and sediment runoff throughout the state. This program is critical to maintaining Indiana’s soil health and protecting water resources, benefiting both farmers and communities.

The meeting will offer an opportunity for public input and discussion regarding ongoing efforts in soil conservation and water quality improvement. Those unable to attend in person can still participate via the provided virtual options.

The SSCB remains committed to promoting sustainable practices in Indiana’s agricultural sector, ensuring that the state’s natural resources are preserved for future generations.
