The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is excited to invite families and food lovers to the Great American Farmers Market on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from August 3–8, 2025. This weeklong event is a celebration of American agriculture, highlighting the country’s farming and entrepreneurial spirit. Over 50 booths will be set up, featuring farmers, ranchers, producers, and vendors from across the nation.
The market will run daily from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. ET and is free to the public. Located across from the USDA Whitten Building, the market will offer farm-fresh produce, artisanal goods, and fun activities for visitors of all ages. This event is part of the America250 celebrations and is held during National Farmers Market Week.
A star-studded lineup includes national leaders like Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, along with faith leaders and celebrities. Performances will feature Big & Rich, Danny Gokey, and many others. Special events on various days include cooking demos, fitness activities, and educational booths.
On Monday, August 4, visitors can enjoy a cooking demo with fresh market ingredients. Tuesday will celebrate unity with faith-based programming, while Wednesday highlights the importance of wildfire readiness with a Smokey Bear birthday bash. The event concludes with Farmer and Family First Friday, featuring a family movie night under the stars with “Charlotte’s Web.”
The market will also host activities like tractor displays, a petting zoo, and workshops on food safety and nutrition. There will be plenty of opportunities for visitors to interact with vendors, sample products, and learn more about American agriculture.
